MISSIONARY PURPOSE

My purpose as a missionary is to “invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.”

PROGRESSION LINE UPON LINE

Thoughts after arriving at the MTC: "It's been super awesome hearing about all the mission calls everyone is getting! The work is moving faster and faster every day! It becomes more and more apparent when you see 1,000 missionaries come in every Wednesday!"

Thoughts after leaving the MTC: "It’s a testimony just knowing that the church is right. The things that we’ve learned are true and real. The way I talk about the gospel now is different. The gospel is something that requires action and action is what God wants. It is real. This is what the world needs and I am engaged in the Lord’s work!"

Thoughts after 18 months: “I feel like I can handle anything now! I've learned how I will have a burning witness of the restored church until the day I die. That will be done by constantly seeking out answers to my questions.”

Thoughts after 24 months: "..."

Wisdom of the day

A wise man and a mentor of mine (my father) once said on the subject of leadership, "I can move a rock with one lever but, I can move a mountain with 100 people and 100 levers!"

The moral of his story was that one can accomplish a lot more when he uses the skills and strengths of the people around him.  This leads me to think a certain word, Synergy. Synergy is when two or more people come together to create something that is greater than what they could produce on their own. Using that principal, remember that you hold great power to influence productivity.  With those principals, in application, you can accomplish anything!

In the words of the great Uncle Ben (Spiderman) "With great power comes great responsibility!"

More on the Uncle Ben topic later!
