Hello
everybody!
I want to start with something I learned this week. Pretend like you
are a parent and you have just gotten to the point where its time to send you
son or daughter off to college so they can learn and grow and experience the
joy you have. You send them off and make the first huge payment for the tuition
and housing. They get settled in and start making friends but they haven’t
called yet to tell you how it’s going. You keep trying to reach out to tell
them you love them but they just won’t call you! Then they get into trouble and
they are having a hard time learning a new concept at school. All the while
they still won’t call you. All you want to do is give them advice because you
love them so much. Now think about this situation then compare it to how our
Father in Heaven feels when we don’t call him.
He loves us so much and wants to
help us but we won’t get on our knees and listen to Him! I would like to
challenge everyone who reads this to, every night before you go to bed, to
"call home". Talk with your Father in Heaven and tell him how
grateful you are for all the things he has given you and then ask for help.
When we ask the Lord will bless us and help us to become better than we already
are!
Okay
so, last email from my home land! This time next week I'll be on the streets of
Finland! We did get our travel
plans! I’ll send a picture of them so you can have them but I am going to call
during our lay-over in Chicago at roughly 1:30 Arizona time. I will also call
from London more to just let you know I am almost there! I’m
not exactly sure when we will be in London I don’t know how many
hours the time changes. We are super excited to go. We started packing today! I
checked the balance on my bank account and I should have enough to pay for
baggage which the church will reimburse us for.
I
am so happy to hear from friends back home! I received a package from home and
from Ralph [at the office]! Thanks for everything! There isn’t another
missionary out here that has more support than I do. Except for the fact that
everyone has the Lord but this is all in addition to that!
Happy
to hear my brother and sister are excelling in everything they do. I expect
nothing but the best!
It’ll
be sad to leave America but I already love Finland!
This
last week has been going by very slow. We have only been thinking about Finland! We are finishing up
some last minute grammar principles and then we’re done as far as curriculum
goes! Last night Gerald L. Lund spoke to us and it was sick! He’s a stud and we
learned a ton!
Today
is our last P-Day and that meant our last time going to the Temple and doing it in English!
I am super excited to go to the Helsinki Temple though! The food in the Provo temple was a nice break
from the food here though!
I
will be preparing a package to send home of unneeded items. Included will be
letters old notes and you guessed it... a memory card! As far as the boots go,
the alternative option sounds really cool. I guess we can hold off until I get
there! (Hopefully I don’t get sent to Roveniemi!. That’s the farthest city north
that missionaries are allowed to go!) I am almost as excited to find out what
area I’ll be in as I was to find out where I was going. There are a few
areas that speak Swedish too so that may be something I have to pick up!

This
is our last week as ZL's so we have been training the new Estonian Elders to
replace us! We are also getting 12 new Albanian missionaries today which will
help us stay busy! It’s interesting how much my Mom and Dad have done to
prepare me for this. Every day I am seeing in myself something my parents have
taught me. I have been greatly blessed to have been raised by such great
people!

Remember
Taylor and Cameron, respect each other and mom and dad. Although they are great
they need your cooperation in order to make you better! Keep preparing for your
missions!
I
love everybody and can feel your love like crazy up here!
Talk
to you on Monday!
Rakkaus,
Vanhin
Tippetts
