MISSIONARY PURPOSE

My purpose as a missionary is to “invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.”

PROGRESSION LINE UPON LINE

Thoughts after arriving at the MTC: "It's been super awesome hearing about all the mission calls everyone is getting! The work is moving faster and faster every day! It becomes more and more apparent when you see 1,000 missionaries come in every Wednesday!"

Thoughts after leaving the MTC: "It’s a testimony just knowing that the church is right. The things that we’ve learned are true and real. The way I talk about the gospel now is different. The gospel is something that requires action and action is what God wants. It is real. This is what the world needs and I am engaged in the Lord’s work!"

Thoughts after 18 months: “I feel like I can handle anything now! I've learned how I will have a burning witness of the restored church until the day I die. That will be done by constantly seeking out answers to my questions.”

Thoughts after 24 months: "..."

Hei!

Wow sounds like a great thanksgiving week for everybody back home! You guys make me so proud!
The good kind of pride though!

Sorry to hear about the problems you guys had this week. Im sure the Christmas tree ordeal was pretty bad! haha Im not worried though, Mom will just have a mountain or two moved to make it happen!

The blue light is working great! Oils are changing lives one drop at a time!

We have had a pretty good week this week.

We are super excited for our trip to Helsinki next week because its basically 3 days with the mission president.

As far as the temple goes, I would have done it in Finnish but someone arranged for us to do an English session so we could watch the new video. The Finnish translation wont be out for a few more months.

This week we saw some pretty great things happen. We got presidents letter on monday and tried to apply everything in it. We fell quite short but we saw the blessings from it. We started the day with 3 lessons planned, all of which fell through. So, we went and checked up on former investigators and potentials but applied all the council we could. At the end of the day we found 8 potential investigators, 2 families who are both investigators and taught 7 lessons! It was pure miracles!

We had a dinner appointment with the Anderssons. They are great. We dont know about Skype yet but Ill keep you posted. We need to figure it out soon!

We are starting to hear about the iPad stuff in our mission. We wont be getting them until the end of next year but what they are doing with it sounds super cool! It will seriously revolutionize missionary work. Things will never be the same! Im sad that I wont get to be here for the full swing of it but its still cool to see that this is what is happening!

We are seeing some big things happening in the world as far as missionary and the church things go. Last conference was almost exclusively about missionary work and even the talks that werent about it can still be applied to it. A general authority was here with one of the ward councils and he explained how the point of a ward council is not to worry about the wards problems, its about figuring out how to do missionary work. We are on the front of the most important religious and social movement in all of the worlds history.

People in Finlands excuse for not sharing the Gospel with friends is that its not there culture to talk about religion. Well correct, it isnt part of Finnish culture or any culture for that matter, but it is a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints culture. Be excited. Share what you know!

I know that this is the True Church restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Jesus Christ is the head of it all. The Book of Mormon is the proof. If you have any questions about these facts, you can read the Book of Mormon and you will come to know in a short time that they are true!

Have a great week!
