Well, finally we got winter! Tuesday was the coldest day of my life. The coldest I saw on an outdoor thermometer was -20! There were reports of -24 though. We also saw one of the rare phenomenons of Scandinavian living! The Northern Lights! Just kidding it wasnt the northern lights but it was a crazy light thing that was going on because it was so cold. We were with the bishop and he pulled over to take pictures because he had never seen them before!
As far as the work goes, we are workin! We have found 5 new investigators in the last 2 weeks and it has been picking up. I dont dare say it but 4 of the 5 return appointments have fallen through so far! We are really banking on the 5th one to go through this week. I am really working hard on staying cheerful through the hardships and its going well.
I have started the Book of Mormon over again but this time I am reading it with a specific topic in mind. The topic is revelation and what it takes to prepare and act on it. Its quite a good way to read! Fun fact: in ancient middle eastern culture there were three things that if one did any one of them, could qualify him for death by the one he committed it to. These things are defilement of ones name, theft of property and attempted murder. Do these sound familiar? These are the 3 things that Laban does to Nephi and his brothers! Well we know that Nephi actually hesitates to kill Laban. When we read this story we question if killing Laban was ok. When a middle eastern person reads the Book of Mormon they question why he hesitated! Interesting how that works isnt it? Read the book! Its full of little gems like that. Most important it teaches about The Savior. If you want to grow closer to the Savior, The Book of Mormon is your book!
Also I have really cracked down on my diet. I called around to get some healthy recipes that are still affordable. If anyone has some no sugar and no dairy recipes please send them my way! I have actually gained about 2 kilograms. Hopefully we can even that out with the new diet!
This week we invented homemade chicken noodle soup! Its off the chain!
After a super depressing night, we came home and saw an older couple struggling to get into the door. So, we offered to help. Like a typical Finn, they declined. Like a typical missionary, we helped anyway. Well, we became friends very shortly and then the man pointed to his jacket and asked me, "do you know what this is?" I replied and said, "its the Tappara Ice Hockey team logo" (Tappara is a huge deal in Finland. They are a pro hockey team.) He said back, "I am the former head coach of this team and I dont know what a Mormon is. Can you come and teach me what a Mormon is?" It was sweet! We traded numbers and will be going over later this week! We shouldnt have any trouble getting members to come to lessons with us!
Tonight we are teaching our YSA group and we decided to role play how to give a Book of Mormon to someone! We are excited. We have been practicing with all the members how to invite and do missionary work! We are getting ready to do some real work here! When we dont have a lot of investigators it gives us a lot of time to get the members all trained to do their own missionary work!
Well, it was a great week and the mission is starting a fast for each of the districts in the mission. This week is our districts turn to be fasted for. Everyone in Finland will be praying at 7:50 and 9:50 each morning and night respectively. If someone would like to join in with us it would be awesome! You could even convert the times and see if you can do it at the exact same time as us!

Ps. I left my Arizona jacket in Mikkeli but I got a way better jacket that is very stylish and much warmer. I will definitely keep that one. it was only 60 euros.
