MISSIONARY PURPOSE

My purpose as a missionary is to “invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.”

Thoughts after arriving at the MTC: "It's been super awesome hearing about all the mission calls everyone is getting! The work is moving faster and faster every day! It becomes more and more apparent when you see 1,000 missionaries come in every Wednesday!"

Thoughts after leaving the MTC: "It’s a testimony just knowing that the church is right. The things that we’ve learned are true and real. The way I talk about the gospel now is different. The gospel is something that requires action and action is what God wants. It is real. This is what the world needs and I am engaged in the Lord’s work!"

Thoughts after 18 months: “I feel like I can handle anything now! I've learned how I will have a burning witness of the restored church until the day I die. That will be done by constantly seeking out answers to my questions.”

Hey, Hey, Hey!

What a week we have had here in Tampere!

Last weeks pday was a little rough but we had a much better one today! This morning we had a lesson in the middle of the day with a in-active member. We knew President was going to be in town so we gave him a call and asked if he would come to the lesson. He accepted and we had a great lesson! Its always fun to go on teaches with President. Everyone keeps asking why I keep getting to do splits with president because I have done it so many times!

I also had an interview with President just now so thats why this is a little late. In my interview, he helped me a ton and he even gave me a compliment! President doesnt just give those out like candy! haha!

Last week in church I translated live for someone and also translated when they wanted to participate in sunday school! It was pretty tough! This week in church we had a pretty crazy experience! One of the sisters investigators came to church super drunk and it was very obvious. We invited him to sit out in the hall during the meeting. Elder Chapman and I sat with the sisters out in the hall because we were worried about them. Well after a few attempts of him trying to go and testify in sacrement mtg and a marriage proposal to one of the sisters, we called him a taxi. It was the first time I called a taxi in my life and it was in Finnish!

Also, I have taught my district here the "I am the voice that leads" quote and all its associated doctrines. Its super great to apply these things. It got me wondering about how I need to set some personal life goals and I was wondering if Dad could send me my personal mission statment I had in college. If he also has the longer one I made for college that would be great to have too. Dad, keep this stuff coming though!

This week we also went on splits in a city called Rauma. It was with Elder Fourtina, who is easily one of my favorite human beings on earth! It was soo fun! He is going home soon so it was great that I got to spend some time with him! While we were there we did something crazy fun! I will send a picture later!

I would like to write more but I need to start uploading pictures if I am gonna finish before bed time!
