Wow, it sounds like another great week at the Tippetts! You guys make me soo proud!
You will be happy to hear that I am currently backing up my pictures! I have almost 800 pictures and thats not including the very first card I sent from the MTC which I didnt get a chance to back up! Someone should give me an estimate of how many pictures I should have before the end of my mission so I can set a goal!
This week, we did not get transfered! President will be calling this week to tell us if we are leaving or not! Its always super scary but we are prepared this week. we scheduled a ton for friday night so we will be so busy we can´t be distracted!
This week was fairly regular. After our exciting Pday with the Rawlings, we had a zone conference on tuesday. After the zone conference, we went to go see the Reijonen family that is leaving to visit their son in Arizona. We told them that a transfer would happen while they were gone and the wanted to say good bye to us. Well, we got to their house and Im not sure if they misunderstood because they were only saying goodbye to me! It was really touching but it gives me that feeling in the back of my neck that I will be leaving soon! Only time will tell, or rather President Rawlings! They said they had a reservation to go to the Temple open house. They were very excited about it.
This week our main focus was innactive members. We broke a record this week and taught 5 different In active families! One of them even came to church! It was great.
We taught the family that came to church with President on monday. Whenever I teach my word book is always close by so if I dont understand something I can write it down. Well, I heard the member say about his non-member wife that she didnt have a lot of friends in church so it would be hard to get her to come. So, I wrote a little note in my word book to help get friends for this sister. After the lesson in my interview, President gave me a compliment for writing that down, he thought it was smart to write it right when I heard it so I wouldnt forget. Well, I was freaked out because how did president know I wrote down that she needed friends in my word book! He was sitting on the other side of the room! The man has power! Haha but he told me he was watching Elder Chapman and I just as closely as the member. it was a cool experience!
After a brutal weekly planning session, we sat down for some left over tacos. We got a call from a member in the other ward and he said he neeed help giving a blessing to a sick sister in the ward. He told us he would be by to pick us up in ten minutes! We hurried and got out the door to meet him and he took us to the hospital. When the question was asked who could give the annointing of the oil, I graciously volunteered my companion to do it! And he did it!!! He gave a blessing in Finnish! One day I can show you but the blessings that include oil have really hard words that I can barely say and he just nailed it! I was a proud father at that moment!
Church was fun. Sister Lamintaus (the finnish sister Hendryx), came up to us and said, "annoin sen" (I gave it) I was completely confused at what she gave away! We had gave the family a commitment that we couldnt come back to their house until they had given the BOM away. She reminded me of it and said "Tervetuloa ensi Sunnuntaina!" (Welcome over next Sunday!) It was great!
We had a baptism! It was actually a guy from a city called Hämenlinna. But it was after our church block. Well church starts at 2 and goes to 5 then the baptism was from 6 to 8 so we hadnt had a chance to eat. Well, the Lamintaus family brought food to the church so they could feed the sisters before the baptism! I saw them eating in the kitchen through the window and gave sister Lamintaus the look of dissapointment! She laughed. Then while I was chatting with some people in the chapel before the baptism, Brother Lamintaus comes in and in English says, "Can I talk to you?" I got super scared because it looked like he was mad! He then took me to the kitchen where they had saved enough food for Elder Chapman and I. I love that family soo much! If you guys ever come back to Finland, we are deffinitely stopping at their place! They actually said that if I get a transfer maybe they will get a transfer to Arizona! haha Cool fact Sister Lamintaus works for the church translation office!
Well enough about them! We ate Kebab with a less active member today and taught another Recent convert. We are getting ready to go play basketball with the Zone Leaders!
Everybody should send a guess of where they think I will be going next change! It would be fun to hear because next week I can tell you what will happen!
